OHS Homecoming kicks off with Coronation Sept. 27
Homecoming 2026 is next week and students and staff at OHS are preparing for a fun filled week of activities. The theme for this year’s Homecoming is “The Greatest Homecoming” for the week of Sept. 27-Oct. 2.
Homecoming gets kicked off with Coronation ceremonies on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Cost for coronation is $2. The senior guys and gals will be battling it out during the PowerTuff volleyball game that will be held in the gymnasium following coronation.
On Thursday, Oct. 1, there will be a cancer walk from 1:30-3 p.m. at the Athletic Field. There will be a home cross country meet starting at 6 p.m.; and volleyball will be a home with Renville County West. Junior High starts at 4:30 p.m.; C-squad at 4:45, Junior Varsity at 6 p.m. and varsity to follow.
Queen candidates for Homecoming 2026 are:
Sara Kirkeby-daughter of Kyle and Kris Kirkeby. She is active in volleyball, softball, dance, band, Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and National Honor Society. (NHS)
Madilyn Sletten-daughter of Tim and Melissa Sletten. She is active in volleyball, track and choir.
Payten Haukos-daughter of Caleb and Sarah Haukos. She is active in volleyball, track, dance, HOSA, FCA and NHS.

Monday: Mismatched Crazy Clothes Day.
Tuesday: Wild Animal Kingdom. (Wear animal prints.)
Wednesday: Dynamic Duo. (Twin with friend or dress as a duo.)
Thursday: Under the circus lights. (Class Colors.) 12th and 6th grade wear black; 11th and 5th grade wear pink; 10th and 4th grade wear blue; 9th and 3rd grade wear purple; 8th and 2nd grade wear red; 7th and 1st grade wear green; Kindergarten wear orange; and Preschool wear multicolored.
Friday: Trojan Spirit day. Wear Orange and Black!)
Float construction will be held Friday morning, Oct. 2 as will the pepfest. The Homecoming Parade will begin on Main Street in Ortonville at 1 p.m. The parade starts at the Family Service Parking Lot and ends at Minnwest Bank. The Homecoming football game will have the Ortonville Trojans battling the Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdahl (NCE/U-H) Titans at 6 p.m. There will be a Powderpuff game following the Trojan football game at Trojan Field. The week will conclude with a movie on the athletic field following the Powderpuff game.
